Billions of dollars are spent each year on diet products and unfortunately the obesity problem in the United States is only getting worse. Why do so many people invest in weight loss programs and pills that simply do not work? Why are many people only putting on more weight instead of losing it?
In 2004 there was another study with rats. It was conducted at Brown University Medical School where they found that when obese rats were fed hoodia they ate 30% to 50% less than before. Another notable finding was with the rats that were diabetic. After eating hoodia gordonii, their diabetic state was reversed.
Soda contains lots of sugar or the even worse high fructose corn syrup. Diet soda triggers the same response in your body as sugar laden soda, so that’s bad news.
Caffeine seems to be a part of everyone’s life no matter how hard one may try to avoid it. It’s in chocolate, sodas, best over the counter diet loss, and more. Not just too long ago, the news media was a buzz with the health RISKS of caffeine.
If you’re wondering what type of foods you can eat, consider things like tuna, wheat bread, fruits, vegetables, boiled eggs, turkey, salmon, yogurt, granola bars, nuts, seeds and baked chicken. You will obviously want to avoid foods that have a lot of grease and sugar in them.
Greatly reduce what you eat each day. This may work for a time. Two problems soon present themselves. One, your ongoing will power, are you strong enough, will you all too soon give up? Two, given you have the will power and you soon stop losing weight. Problem, your body thinks you are facing a period of starvation and it will fight hard to maintain what fat you still have. Here is a diet with a poor track record – it is not generally a diet that works. (If however you find it works make sure you do not finish up malnourished.) You will also need to consider that you too are not immune to the problem in this next paragraph, ie what happens when the diet is over?
Some studies have shown that one alcoholic drink per day helped reduce the risk of heart disease no matter if it was wine, beer, spirits etc. Drinking more than this regularly will increase your risk of disease. Moreover, red wine contains a chemical called resveratrol which has shown to have heart protecting properties by numerous studies.
